ADV form - Definition

Professional Investment advisors have to submit detailed financial information to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) this is known as ADV form. The ADV form should be available for public for those companies with over $25 million turn over. While the first part of the form provides information like name, number of employees, nature of business etc., the second part provides information services provided, fees levied etc. The form can be had by the public from the nearest SEC office. Usually the investment advisors provide the form as part of their Marketing presentation. Investors should insist to have the form to protect them.
